Product Review (submitted on July 15, 2020):

I bought this scanner to be able to scan in a bunch of size 110 negatives that the Epson scanner I previously owned could not do. I'm happy to say I was able to scan those 110 negatives along with a number of 35mm negatives and am very pleased with the results. The scanned photos from those old negatives dating back to the 1980s really turned out well. I was thrilled to be able to view them on my computer screen, edit and organize them after scanning them onto a memory card with the Magnasonic.

The Magnasonic is easy to use with all the control buttons being easlily accessible right in front of you and the screen being angled up so that viewing the picture you just scanned is also very easy. I also like the 5" inch screen for viewing the pictures compared to several other brands of scanners that have only a 2 or 3 inch screen.

Scanning a picture is as easy as sliding the negative into the slide insert, centering the picture in the view screen, pressing the scan button and you're done, then onto the next photo in the film strip. One note I will add is that because some of my 110 film strips were about 2 inches or shorter, I had to come up with something to push the film strip through the scanner to get it positioned under the viewer to where I could scan the photo. I ended up cutting a half inch strip off an old plastic card which was thin enough to slide into the film strip holder and push the film strip into the correct place.

I used a 32GB class 4 Sandisk memory card with the Magnasonic to scan the pictures onto. I tried using a class 10 card which would not work. The Magnasonic simply wouldn't scan onto the card. I had experienced the same issue with another scanner I had used so for anyone considering purchasing a Magnasonic, make sure to buy a class 4 SD card. It works perfectly with this scanner.

Overall, I'm very pleased with the Magnasonic scanner. It's easy to use and the quality of the pictures it produces is excellent. I also like that you can scan to a memory card and then put the memory card in your computer for any photo editing you need to do versus having to connect the scanner directly to a computer to do the scanning. I highly recommend this scanner.
