This scanner has been great for having old family slides on my computer and being able to view them again. I have also been scanning the negatives from my old pictures. It does a great job with both and I have compared the scanned negatives to the photos I scanned on a flatbed scanner and they generally come out much better. My only issue is with some darker slides, when I try to increase the brightness some of the brighter parts of the picture end up with a distorted colour. This is minor compared to the overall results.
