The clock has a brightness settings button that of course adjust the brightness on the face of the clock. However, it does nothing for the brightness of the projection. There has to be low room light to see projection. Some reading thos may say 'Duh', but this is not my first or even second clock projector, and both other clocks had better viewing of projection time directly above where the clock is sitting..
