Compared to the cost of having movies digitized by jobbers, don't even consider the cost of the machine. It is easy to use, does a good job, and gives you quality results.Some say it is too slow. Considering the normal movie shows 16 frames per second and each of the frames must be digitized, the process will take time. It took me a week to transfer my dad's 8mm films and am happy with the results.Some say it's too loud. Turn up your TV or wear headphones, dummy.Follow the instructions and enjoy the results. I sent copies to family and we all get lost in the memories.
