I purchased this to replace my older is the older transparency scanner. The old ones had no drivers or anything newer then windows xp.Magnasonic has a higher Resolution. My older one cooked right to the computer and I had so much control over the image. The Magnasonic Scan into Internal memory or SD card it will also scan into the computer. Have no control over the settings with the computer only the basic controls Which are quite limited. My old student I could scan up the 6 negatives at a time. Or 3 slides.My original scanner was slower than the Magnasonic. The original scanner did not have a screen on it everything was controlled by the computer I had large amount of control over the scans. Magnasonic Has limitations over the scans what you can set up and what you can do. Overall my impressions. For the money it does a pretty good job. I found them some old black-and-white negatives from the thirties I had to do 2 scans 1 for the shadow one for the highlight and reassemble in photoshop take a few minutes but got some really nit's really nice scans.
